Environmental Literacy in Social Studies Classes

We will offer 1-hour, teacher-led Zoom sessions during the second semester once a week on Wednesdays (5:30-6:30 pm), and hope that you will join as many of them as you are able. If you have any questions, please contact the CCSS Professional Learning Coordinator, Jenny (JHD) Heikkila Diaz at [email protected].
About the Event:
On May 24th, for ALL GRADES (K-12): Connecticut’s proposed Social Studies Standards include content related to environmental literacy and climate change. Jim Clifford, founder of Exploring Climate, an educator with almost 30 years of social studies classroom experience, has written a teacher's guide to integrating environmental literacy into social studies classes. It focuses on the historic, economic, geographic, social, civic, and political aspects of climate change. Discover resources to prepare you and your students to meet these challenges.
